Who sees what

Teens stop using apps that feel like they're being watched, and parents stop trusting apps that hide what they collect. So here is exactly what each person can see about a student's account. Students must be 13 or older.

Today only the student sees their account. Tutors' views open on Nov 23, 2026 and parents' on Dec 14, 2026, with these limits.

Our full privacy policy and terms are with our attorney for review. They will be posted here before the free report opens on Nov 12, 2026.

What your parent and tutor see, on the student's phone: what each one sees and never sees
Students can check what their parent and tutor see at any time. Sample, not a real student.

  1. Nobody sees a birth year in the app. Only our server reads it, for the age check.
  2. Parents see effort and progress: minutes, questions done and progress since the Starting Point. Never each answer, never the chat.
  3. Tutors see progress and skills only, and only after they approve the student. Never the chat, never a parent's contact details.
  4. Our staff look only to answer a support request you make.

What we never do

  • No ads.
  • We never sell data.
  • No third-party scripts on student pages.
  • No accounts for anyone under 13.

Children under 13 (COPPA)

There are no accounts for anyone under 13. Sign-up asks for the grade first, then a birth month and year for the age check; only our server can read the birth year. A parent of a younger child can join a waitlist to hear when prep for younger students opens; we keep only the parent's email for that.

Schools (FERPA)

No school pilots run this school year. Before any school pilot in 2027–28, the school and TestDayPass sign a data privacy agreement, and student data is handled under FERPA's school-official exception. For schools

Your data

From Dec 14, 2026, you can export or delete your data yourself in the app. Until then, email us and we'll do it for you. If a question looks wrong, flag it in the app: we check it and tell you what we found.

The waitlist

We keep only what the form asks for, plus the tracking tags in the link you came from:

  • Students: Email, grade and SAT® date.
  • Parents: Email, your teen's grade, their SAT date, and whether you held the launch price (and the price you saw).
  • Tutors: Email, how many students you work with, and whether you'll do the weekly founding call.
  • Schools: Work email, school name and state, and how many students take the SAT each year.
